EUROGRIP MARINE has been developed by the company to provide a fast curing, heavy duty, high friction coating that can be laid with minimum disruption to the build or commercial operation of a ship or ferry. Designed specifically for the marine and maritime industries it provides enhanced traction for vehicles manoeuvering on-board and boarding vessels whilst contributing by increased composite thickness and corrosion protection to the structural integrity of the vessel.
It is recognized that polyurethane binders are well suited to use in a marine / salt water environment where they have been used for many years with great success. EUROGRIP MARINE utilizes a polyurethane binder or adhesive which in the system bonds the high friction aggregate to steel, timber or concrete. It has high adhesion properties, cures quickly, has low flame spread, high chemical resistance, high wear characteristics and is cold applied over a range of temperatures.
The system is applied using a rubber serrated squeegee and comprises a primer, resin adhesive and high friction aggregate. Most surfaces must be blast cleaned prior to application. Whilst almost always supplied in a dark grey or black colour, a range of colours and alternative aggregates is available. It is supplied in either winter or summer grades but can be formulated to suit the climatic conditions in most countries.
